The leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lokoja local government chapter has pledged their continued loyalty to the immediate past Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Umar Ahmed Imam.
The leaders, supported by hundreds of party supporters, made their position known when they visited the Imam at his private residence in GRA Lokoja as part of activities to mark the Sallah celebration.
They lauded the lawmaker for his immense contributions towards the development of his constituency and the state in general.
While noting that words alone could not count his achievements in the state, the delegation led by their ward chairmen added that the former speaker remain their candidate in the next state assembly election come 2019.
In his response, Imam appreciated the visiting party stalwarts and urged them to be patient and faithful to the party.
“I will forever be committed to my primary assignment as a lawmaker which is to give true dividend of democracy to the people who vote me into office.
“More things are to come as I have pipeline projects to improve the lives of my people. Before the end of the sixth legislative year, Lokoja I, under my watch, will witness total transformation in terms of visible projects that will touch the lives of our people.
“No doubt, in the last two years I have empowered so many youths, completed several projects and I am so much committed to do more for my people,” he said.
