The National Coordinator, PDP Youth Frontiers, Comrade Austin Okai has described the appointment of Hajia Hadiza Atimah as the new Chairman of Kogi State Pensions Board as a misnomer.

In a statement signed by Okai and made available to Kogireports, Okai alleged that Hadiza Atimah is Governor Yahaya Bello’s sister in-law.

He said Atimah, who is an accountant with the State Ministry of Finance, lacks credibility to head the office. He described her appointment as a gross abuse of office by Governor Bello.

The social crusader said the appointment of a level 12 accountant to head the State Pension Board will further worsen “the deliberate efforts of the state government to starve the pensioners”.

Okai alleged that the appointment was to encourage ‘kill and divide pattern’, saying the new Chairman lacks the prerequisite qualification required for the office.

He urged the governor to reverse the appointment without further delay. He pledged to mobilize Kogi pensioners to reject the appointment.
