The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Amupitan Bolanle has urged youths of Mopamoro Local Government Area to key into the empowerment initiatives programs of the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration.
The charge was made during the new yam Odole Mopa festival which took place recently in ward II, Mopamuro LGA.
Amupitan further reiterated the need for the youths in the LG to shun all vises of criminal activities and to remain law abiding citizens of the state so as to enable peace and development in the LG.
She also stressed the need for youths to engage in activities that will build them physically, mentally and independently rather than being tools for criminalities.
Earlier, the Commissioner donated the sum of N20,000 for the school fees of a secondary school girl and 2 generator set and N10,000 to two persons who showed interest in the barbing business.
According to her, the objective of the donation was to provide succor to creative youths who are focused on earning themselves decent living.
Responding, the youth leader Comrade David Gbenga commended the kind gesture of the commissioner, promised that the youths in the local government area will remain in full support of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s led administration.
Highlights of the program were cultural display and drama from various groups and wards in the Local Government.
