Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali has described the death of Mr. Idris Baba as a great loss to the people of Anyigba and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Kogi State.
In a press statement issued by Aidoko’s media office, the lawmaker said the contribution of late Mr Baba to the development of Agudoko, PDP family and Anyigba remain indelible.
Mr Baba, according to the press release, was a faithful, unbiased, non-sectional community leader whose contributions to PDP made the party the darling of the people of Agudoko.
Senator Aidoko said the contributions of the likes of late Mr Baba helped the PDP to win successive elections in Agudoko since the inception of current democratic dispensation in 1999.
He said Kogi state and the entire Igala race will miss his political wisdom, consistency, decorum and high level tolerance to political participation and disposition.
Aidoko urged the family to take solace in the fact that the late elder statesman had lived a fulfilled life, having retired into politics after a successful public service career.
Senator Aidoko appealed to supporters of PDP from the area not to see his death as an opportunity to break away, but an avenue to rebuild the new PDP with a view to reclaiming power in 2019.
