Security reports may have prompted Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to change his plan of observing this year Eid-el Fitri prayer at Felele eid prayer ground where former governors, the Maigeri of Lokoja and other top personalities traditionally observed their prayers during eid-el Fitri.
The governor however worshiped at the Old Stadium prayer ground in the heart of the State capital the action which the National Update gathered may not be unconnected with security reports of any possible civil disobedience.
It was gathered that some elements were bent on fomenting trouble at the prayer ground hence the Governor in his disposition towards ensuring peace reigned in the State decided to heed security advice by opting to pray at the Stadium prayer ground.
The National Update checks revealed that the speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt Hon Imam Umar and several other appointees who had gone ahead of the Governor to the Felele Prayer ground had to make a detour when they were informed of the development.
They had to rush back to the stadium prayer ground in the heart of Lokoja which accounted for their lateness as the Speaker had to observe his prayer along the road to the stadium because of the crowd.
The Stadium prayer ground which was heavily manned by security had a drone hovering over the faithful for complimentary security checks.

However the traditional institution led by the Alhaji Muhammad Kabiru Maikarifi 11 and others observed their prayer at the Felele prayer ground.
The governor, in his message at the prayer ground called on Nigerians irrespective of religious faith to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood in order to live in harmony with one another in the interest of peace and development of the country.
Governor Bello who spoke to mark the end of 2017 Ramadan fasting also enjoined Nigerians not to relent in fervent prayer for President Muhammadu Buhari’s quick recovery.
He charged the people of the country to pray for the Acting President Professor Osibajo to succeed in the challenges of piloting the affairs of the country.
Bello however appealed to Nigerians to bear the current economic recession, assuring that very soon the hardship will be a thing of the past.
The Governor urged the people to cooperate and support the federal government to execute its laudable economic policies for the nation. The governor added that the federal government is working assiduously to permanently end the insurgents in the north east part of the country to enable the people of the area enjoy absolute peace.
