Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Otunba Dino Melaye has been commended for his humane disposition to his constituents.

Mr. Mathew Olatunde Ajigi, a community leader and Okun advocate, made this known in a chat with Kogireports today.

Ajigi also announced that the distinguished Senator gave him a car gift today to replace his stolen car. He said the gesture came as a pleasant surprise.

“On 26th of October 2016 I attended an invitation in Lokoja from a close brother. The function was well attended by respected dignitaries from far and near in a very secured hotel. Around 11:45 pm I came out to pick something in my car but behold I couldn’t see the vehicle I packed around 8 .23 pm again. I reported to police and many good spirited people reported the matter on many online platforms but up to this moment, the car has not been recovered. I lost reasonable cash, international passport, valuable documents and other important personal effects.

“Leaders across Kogi West symphatised with me and rendered financial assistance to help cushion the effects of the loss of my car. Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Imam Umar, Barrister Babatunde Irukera, Hon. Sunday Tolorunleke, Hon. Victor Omofaiye and a host of others offered generous financial assistance when they heard about the stolen car. I am grateful to them all.

“Today, Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye called me that he learnt my car was stolen few months ago and expressed concern that I cannot be going everywhere without a car with all my effort towards a great Kabba, Okun, and Kogi state. He gave me a pleasant surprise, a car gift to replace the stolen one,” he said.

Ajigi thanked the Senator and other leaders who reached out to him during the period of his loss. He prayed that God will guide and prosper Senator Melaye.

He described Dino as a defender of the masses based on his activities before he was elected and his people-oriented motions and submissions on the floor of the Senate since June 2015. He praised the Senator for his efforts on the long neglected Obajana-Kabba-Egbe road and the bill he recently sponsored to upgrade College of Agriculture, Kabba to University of Agriculture and Technology.
