Buba Trains 200 Senior Secondary School Students On Desktop Publishing

In  his effort to fulfill his campaign promises, Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril, member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency has again trained not  fewer than 200 senior secondary school students from Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency on desktop publishing.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the trainees in Lokoja, Hon Umar Buba Jibril, said the scheme in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was aimed to ensure that the beneficiaries have a sense of belonging in the society.
Our correspondent reports that the beneficiaries were trained on desktop publishing among other ICT skills.
The Deputy leader called on the beneficiaries to take the skills learnt at the training seriously in order to improve their standard of living and reduce hardship in the society.
He said government cannot do it alone, therefore called for a collaborative efforts from other group and members of the society toward making the beneficiaries employers of labour.
Our correspondent reports that each of the beneficiaries was presented with certificate and  a Laptop worth N120,000 to enable them start a business.
The lawmaker charged  the beneficiaries  to utilize the training  and state -to art computer,they received by setting up a small scale businesses which he said would help in enhancing economic development in the state.
In his  own speech, the State Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Hadi Amentuo, who represented Alhaji Muhammed Attati Bozy,  appreciated the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the training and contribute positively in the society.
He called on elected officials from the state to emulate the lawmaker, so as to the reduce unemployment in our society.
The highlights of the event is the presentation of certificates and laptop to the participants.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries from Kogi Local Government, Ibrahim Musa thanked the lawmaker for the opportunity afforded  them, stressing that with the training.
“We can now face the challenges ahead, especially in the field of ICTs”, he said.
