Public service activities in Kogi state were grounded today as workers embarked on a 3 days warning strike directed by labour leaders in the state.
Primary and secondary schools in Lokoja, the Kogi capital, were shut down with keys and locks. Pupils who visited school today were sent back home.
A visit to Bishop Delise College, Crowther Memorial School, Muslim Community Secondary School, Holy Trinity and Local Government Schools across the capital showed total compliance with the strike action.
Workers in the offices of the ministries of agriculture, education and works as well the office of the Secretary to State Government, along old stadium, did not show up at their places of primary assignment.
Visiting the state Secretariat, the ever busy Zone 8 was deserted as only commissioners, permanent secretaries and some directors were present.
Mr Shaibu Sanni, a state worker commended his colleagues for obeying the labor leaders adding that they now have confidence in both the leaders and the led.

Mr Sanni recalled that early lay year, the labor leaders warned them about the antics of the present administration but they were swayed by the youthfulness of the governor.
In Okene, it was gathered that some selected youth took it up themselves to see that the warning strike is been obeyed by all workers in the local government area.
In the eastern part of the state, workers remained at home insisting that are tired of working without been paid. They said several workers have lost their lives during the endless screening exercise appealing to labor to declare indefinite strike.
