Whereas Ankpa 2 constituency have been since neglected in terms of qualitative representation at the Kogi state House of assembly. Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa has broke the gene through unimaginable socioeconomic intervention and revival which rather than a norm has come to the people as been alien. While it is too numerous to mention;
in outlining the areas his stewardship has considered critical to act, Hon Rabiu chose human welfare as a topmost priority.
True to his words and campaign promises, he has given unrivalled attention to his constituents especially those at the downtrodden and he has a reserved consideration for widows, the old and vulnerable within the nooks and crannies of Ankpa 2 constituency. Hence, poverty alleviation can be said to have become a focal point of this young,
politically infantry but administratively ebullient politician.
Among his deliberate efforts to poverty alleviation is a self mandated weekly visits during which he interacts freely with his constituents, listens to complains, access living standards and render tokens which although not intensive goes a long way in reducing the apprehension of feeding in the receiving homes. Hon Rabiu have not only wiped worries but through these endeavors subconsiously established an alternative succour to those who seek out of his free will especially at this time of economic recession.
While it is worrisome that government at state level has rather turned salaries/pensions/wages to privilege instead of rights, Hon Rabiu have in his limited capacity without any recourse save his personal earnings strive to maintain the glory of family responsibility for many family heads and bread winners. It is very pathetic therefore that government neglected the pains of the masses without empathy but may God continue to bless the likes of Hon Rabiu and all those who render genuine services to the good growth and standard living of the masses.
Worthy of note among his numerous endeavors is the epoch making event which he organised penultimate month ago. The event which was well attended by distinguished political, religious and traditional leaders of Ojoku/Enjema extractions was more of an intimidation than the essence itself. The essence was to justify the confidence reposed on
him vis-a-vis youth empowerment, cash donations and distribution of entrepreneurship start up materials which he all single handedly acquired without partnership. But alas, it seemed like an intimidation to the dignitaries whom have far long acquired lasting wealths without any record of investing it into the socioeconomic development of
Ojoku/Enjema constituency and constituents.
How the welfare and development of Ojoku/Enjema was allowed to fall into ruins without industrialized alternative remains a troubling puzzle in from the elites God raised from these communities. Infact, there is no pride in saying we have had sons and daughters whom have held sway in different stratas of Nigeria as a result of their failure
to replicate this fortunes in their communities where they enjoyed good trainings and functional morals that accelerated them to the high heights they attained. By implication, they turned their greatness to the likeness of lamp light which cannot brighten it’s base(Under).
By and large, the time is never late to do what is right. Ankpa 2 constituency is home to the serving house of Representatives member for Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala federal constituency as well as the senator representing Kogi east at the house of Senate. Thus, all hands should be on deck to rally round and complement the good works of Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa in order to positively impact on the well being of the Ojoku/Enjema people. So, as the people anticipates a more prosperous 2017, let the people be made to feel the ideal impact of having the duo of a serving house of representatives member and senator. No doubt, doing this will ignite a passion which due to inadequate words is better imagined than said.
God Bless Ojoku/Enjema,
God Bless Kogi State Government,
God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria
