The recent launch of late Mrs. Titilayo’s Foundation, calls to mind on the need for Nigerians and humanity to work in pursuit of positive ideals – Mary Amodu writes.
She was a destiny helper and an agent of positive social transformation. The life and times of late Mrs. Titilayo Fanwo, is one that would forever be remembered by many she came across while alive.
Truly, Mrs. Titilayo was a woman of amazing character with humble exemplary accomplishments and a rare public spirited individual, who was ready to give her little all just to make people she come in contact with smile.
An inspiration to several your people, especially women and the girl-child amongst many she impacted, the inauguration of a Foundation in her honour recently was to many a fulfillment of her desire in life.
The rationale behind a philanthropic service is basically to support people whose pain you feel and care enough to help ease it. Philanthropy is not always about money, it is about a humane service.

Patriotism is such a rare attribute in Nigeria that many connote as politics, a reason for social advocacy.
Late Titilayo left a legacy of altruism and was selfless, many who wept profusely during her burial a year ago had lost hope of finding someone to step into her shoes.
The Foundation was inaugurated due to the need to make massive social impact in such a way that she would be happy in her grave.
The Foundation has its core objectives as raising the capacity of people to be self sustaining and reducing crime and other social vices by promoting legitimate alternatives to the youth as the white collar jobs.
Mopamuro was agog and stood still on the day set aside to commemorate, life of late Mrs. Titilayo Fanwo, on the 2nd of September, a day largely referred to as the TEF Day.
Just like other women in the western part of Kogi State, who have made tremendous impact in the lives of mankind, women like the Late Mrs. Janet Ekundayo from Isanlu in Yagba East local government area of Kogi State, popularly called the Mother Theresa of Africa.
TEF Promotion has no doubt impacted countless on the lives of the Amuro’s in this short period, through different philanthropic programs in areas like sport, education, religion and politics.
The Foundation has recorded a huge success in addressing youth unemployment.
Kingsley Fanwo and his siblings, who are the promoter of the TEF, believes that the Foundation has the potential for becoming a major springboard for manpower development in the State.
Mr. Fanwo, son of the late philanthropist conceived the idea for the promotion as a way of supporting innovation and ensuring that the needs of the youth and indigent persons in the State is realized.
An important component of the Foundation is its dedication to alleviating third world problems and promoting a better life for the common man.
This is in line what the legacy of the late Mrs. Titilayo Fanwo stands for, a project she pursued while alive.
The TEF is mainly a self sponsored organisation, however, seeks collaboration with other grant makers and international agencies who share the same interest where necessary as the Foundation will in future need additional funding from other sources to support visions.
For now TEF is working towards a future in which young persons can be given better opportunities in the area of education. It seeks to facilitate training programs, gives scholarships, provide books and other educational materials and assist students to become self sustaining by creating skill acquisition training opportunities that will make a lasting impact in the lives of its beneficiaries.
This year’s TEF Day may have come and gone, one thing the day’s significance leaves behind is the fact that, though late Mrs.
Titilayo Fanwo is long gone, her works and ideals to make the world a better place still lives.
