What happened at the supreme court yesterday was a scam, a rape and a fraud on the norms of democratic governance.
A situation where a country judiciary is handled by Senior Advocates of Naira not Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
A situation where by the judiciary finally, via the supreme court, created an externally implaced government but an internally displace government.
Is not the issue of people seeing Yayaha Bello as the Governor of the state but rational people tend to offer loyalty and legitimacy to elected representatives who were voted in by majority the people.
Yahaya Bello is a creation of the judiciary, imposed on the people and such his government lack the vital ingredient of a democratic setting called legitimacy.
It will now be on record that Kogi state once had a governor that was not the wish of the people, but that of an adulterated and manipulated judicial system. One thing is for sure, you can purchase electoral victories, but you can purchase democratic legitimacy.
Just as the popular saying goes: When the drum beats changes, the dance steps also changes. In the past few months we were faced with a government with a stolen mandate, which we all thought will be recovered by the judiciary because we all thought that the judiciary is the last hope for the masses, but unfortunately it proved otherwise.
Now we are faced with a situation – an era were a government with a stolen mandate that has been ‘rectified’, not by the constitution of Nigeria, but that of the Presidency, Minister of Justice and a section of a political party. This singular act has now brought a paradigm shift in the nature of viable and functional opposition in the state.
A movement from how he came to office to:
Now that he is in office -What actually do the intend to do, how do they intend doing it -What actually have the done. Since viable and constructive or dis-constructive criticism has been seen as an antidote to bad governance, maladministration and tyranny, we will make sure and also not hesitate to administer large dose of the criticism anti-biotics into the state polity so as to keep the government of day on its toes towards providing the greatest happiness for the greater majority.
It very unfortunate that we Kogites are forced into a romance with a government delivered in an unholy matrimony of a stolen mandate which has further hatched its babies of poverty, hunger, insecurity, fraud, lies etc into our state. For the next 3 years plus, Kogi a vibrant state, a confluence of opportunities (now confluence of confusion) will be under siege of missionlessness, vissionlessness, motionlessness, embezzlement, fraud, administrative lies and propaganda. Hence, silence in the face of tyranny and mal-administration will amount to nothing short of being a coward, and a functional and glaring conspiracy against the people of the state, its founding fathers and humanity.
Things can change only when the people in realm of affairs believe, that things ought to change and a ready to pilot an unadulterated change policy and pattern. Kogi state must move forward.
