The senator representing Kogi Central Senatoral district, Senator Ahmed Ogembe has dedicated his Friday’s victory at the tribunal to the people of Kogi central senatorial district.
Ogembe’s election at the rerun election was challenged at the tribunal by bared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Mohammed Salami Ohiare. The tribunal in her ruling affirmed the disqualification of Ohiare and upheld the election of Ogembe as the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Ogembe said the judgement had validated his victory, and the unflinching support that was given to him by his people.
“I give the glory to the almighty God for seeing me through the trying times. I am using this opportunity to urge all my supporters not to rescind the trust they have reposed in me right from the beginning.
“It is sacred and I give you my oath that I will do my utmost best to justify your trust in me by living above your expectations,” Ogembe said.
The senator thanked the people of his district for standing by him in defense of the mandate they freely and willingly gave to him through the ballots.
He hailed the judiciary for their non partisanship and proving themselves truly to be the last hope of the common man, which would strengthening our nascent democracy.
“I will continue to do my best to ensuring that my people are adequately and well represented at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
“I am extending hands of fellowship and unity to the oppositions to join hands with me in building the Kogi central district of our dreams,” the senator said.
