With astonishment and heartbroken Kogi Youth Power Shift, KYPS, received a mail on your death. Your Secretary in trepidation and mournful passed the news to us in the mid-day of 22nd May, 2016.
Without any aorta of doubt, you were a king with many beautiful colours. You were different. You were a philosopher, and a highly schooled monarch, such as was described by Plato and Aristotle who in their time had said that, “unless philosophers become kings and those whom we call kings become philosophers there will be no end to evils for the cities nor the human race”.
Relentlessly, you pursued peace within Okunland. You expanded consciousness beyond Oweland, Kogi and Nigerian borders.
You were indeed a special breed, and no doubt that you will be remembered for your fearless commitment to Peace, Equity, Fairness and Justice, which were evidently proven when we visited you as at the time we embarked on public sensitisation called Power Shift Tussle. You will also be remembered for your lofty standards enduring structures that have raised the bar of traditional rulership in Oweland. You will be remembered for diplomacy, humility, peacemaking and quality leadership.
Above all, you visited and called most sons whom you felt had somehow offended to apologize to them. You also forgave those who offended you. May God almighty forgive you and give you rest.
KYPS (Advocates for Positive Change) use this opportunity to call on Okun people, men and women, young and all Kogites, the ruled and the rulers to look ahead to be builders and reformers of our communities. Let us seize the moment while there is liquid in our bodies to lay solid foundations for an enduring future for the coming generations. This will encompasses a full life, liberty, justice and happiness.
Once again, Kogi Youth Power Shift (Positive Change Advocates) pray that the soul of Oba Michael Folorunsho Olobayo (JP) Rest in the Bossom of the Lord. Ameen
