The appointment of the Deputy Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Dr. David Danjuma Baba, has been renewed for the second and final term of another two years with effect from 17th April, 2016.
Dr. Baba, the 8th Deputy Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah was born on 14th July 1967 and hails from Efakwu –Egume in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He had his primary education at the N.A. Primary school, Egume and Army children school Makurdi 1973-1979.

He attended University of Jos, Plateau State and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he bagged masters and PHD in English Language respectively.
Dr. Baba started his teaching career in 1990 with the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo Benue State as assistant lecturer, after which he left in 1991 and had a brief stint in Ministry of Education office.
He joined the services of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah in 1992 as lecturer III from where he rose through the ranks to the rank of chief lecturer in 2010.
Dr. Baba had served in various capacities in the Polytechnic, including head of continuing Education 2003-2008, Director, Research and Development January – May 2009 and Director, Federal Polytechnic Idah ventures limited 2009-2012.
He is a professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, National Association of Teachers of English in Colleges of Education and polytechnic, the body he became its National president 2007-2014 and Fellow, Nigeria Institute of Public Speaking among others.
Dr. David Danjuma Baba, a prolific writer with not less than 45 academic publications to his credit including books and articles in both local and international journals, as well as conference papers especially on English Language.
