…set to slam N100m libel suit on NCGG
The Ahmed Ahmed Campaign Organisation has condemned in strong terms the allegations levied against Hon. Mohammed Ahmed by Network for Change and Good Governance, NCGG.
In a swift reaction to the allegation by Ismaila Atumeyi of NCGG, the head of media and communication of the campaign organisation, Prince Tijani Dauda, dismissed the allegations as frantic efforts of losers to blackmail the destined winner of Saturday rerun poll.
“The attention of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed (Ahmed Ahmed) Campaign organization has‎ been drawn to a malicious, mischievous and spurious publication by an unregistered and illegal body, the Network for Change and Good Governance, NCGG‎ accusing him of not being qualified to participate in the rerun election, he said.
” ‎We find this as laughable, false, and a deliberate attempt by some faceless blackmailers to dent the reputation of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed.
” ‎Hon. Ahmed Mohammed’s academic records are straight and verifiable. And ‎we urge the public to totally disregard the report being published, as it is a work of blackmail and mischief makers aimed at smearing his hard-earned reputation. ‎He met all the requirements and was screened by INEC last year to participate.
” ‎We find this publication as baseless and a ‎campaign of calumny against his personality ‎ and should be ignored because it is false,  as there is no truth in it whatsoever.‎
Tijani also hinted that the maligned candidate has briefed his lawyers to initiate legal redress and sue NCGG for libel.
