Deputy-governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, James Faleke has asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to go to court if it was convinced he has breached the 1999 Constitution.
Reacting to recent criticisms against his status as a serving member, representing Ikeja Central in the House of Representatives and also as a deputy-governor designate in Kogi State, Faleke said he has not breached any law or provision of the statute book.
Specifically, Faleke asked PDP to mind its business and provide answers to series of corrupt practices under its watch in the last 16 years.
“The PDP is just crying more than the bereaved. Is it not hypocritical that a party that has no respect for its own internal constitution is talking about what is happening in an organised party like the APC? There is a log in the PDP eye, yet its concern is on the speck in another’s eye.
“Tunji Shelle must have read the Nigerian Constitution upside down by asking the National Assembly to determine my status. He should consult experts to have a better understanding of the Statute Book, Shelle should approach the court if he was convinced of his position…”
“This is a constitutional democracy. The law is there to be tested. He should stop playing to the gallery. But I want to tell Shelle that even if I resign today, the PDP can never win Ikeja Federal Constituency. It is my party that will benefit…”
“So, what is PDP headache? Rather than dissipate its energy on what does not concern it, the PDP should be concerned about how its leadership ran the ship of the country aground. The party should be ashamed with the monumental revelations on how it plundered the commonwealth in the 16 years that it was in the saddle,” Faleke added.
