Our attention has been drawn to online reports emanating from various online platforms including but not limited to the Dailypost Nigeria accusing notable PDP members including former president Goodluck Jonathan, Fmr Kogi state governor Ibrahim Idris and distinguished Sen. Dr Amadu Ali, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Director General of the last PDP presidential campaign of working against the re-election of Kogi state governor, Capt Idris Wada.
These reports are false and baseless as Senator Dr Amadu Ali has shown exemplary leadership in piloting the affairs of our great party and as a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, who rose to the post of the distinguished National Chairman of the party and controlled the party for three uninterrupted good years, during which tenure the PDP captured 28 out the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory and chairmaned the presidential campaign that ushered in the administration of late President Umaru Yaradua and Goodluck Jonathan. Such a man will never be involved in anti-party activities. His contribution to the development of Nigeria can be traced as far back as his days in the military where he served as a two term Minister of Education and upon retirement served as the Senator representing Benue East and later Kogi West.

From the creation of Kogi state in 1991, he has been involved in Kogi politics and his support and loyalty for candidates of his party has been unwavering. This has been demonstrated in his support for the candidacy of former Governor Ibrahim Idris of PDP and his recent support of Capt. Idris Wada, the Executive Governor of Kogi state. He is an avid supporter of continuity and the progress of Kogi state, which reflects, in his open declaration of his support for the re-election of Capt Idris Wada in the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi state. His support is based mainly on the fact that Capt Idris Wada is one of the few governors, who came on seat and completed ongoing projects left behind by his predecessor. This attribute in a poor state like Kogi state must be commended and rewarded by a reaffirmation of his second tenure by all those who love Kogi state.
His ongoing project to manufacture cement which involves Kogi state government and the Chinese will boost Kogi state internally generated revenue and make Kogi state less dependent on the Federal government.
It is no doubt a figment of our detractor’s imagination and the writer’s biased opinion about our great leaders in the PDP and Kogi state in particular to assume that the candidacy of Capt Idris Wada does not enjoy the support of the party and its leaders. The PDP is going into the forthcoming elections as a united house and as the acclaimed biggest party in Africa, we assure our teaming supporters and the good people of Kogi state that our support for Capt Idris Wada is unshakable and our victory in the elections is guaranteed.
