The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Prince Abubakar Audu Campaign organisation (PAAC) have separately refuted media stories alleging that some supporters of the party have protested during the presentation of certificate of return to Audu, winner of the recent gubernatorial primary poll of the party in Kogi State.
The protest was reportedly staged at the party’s national headquarter in Abuja on Wednesday.
A statement issued by Comrade Dan Isah, the director-general of PAAC, said there were evidences that some people opposed to Audu’s emergence hired some” miscreants” to stage manage the protest.
“Some touts, numbering about four, carried placards at the gate of our national headquarter in order for the media to source story against our beloved flag bearer, but were overwhelmed by Audu’s teeming supporters who turned out in their large numbers to witness the ceremony amidst pomp and pageantry.”

On its part, the party, reacting in a statement issued by Malam Nda Ghali, the APC publicity secretary in the state, said that the purportedly reported protest was meant to cause distraction, adding: “Some of our opponents were expecting crises during and after the primary but they were disappointed. This is a season of politics and so, we are not surprised by the antics of our opponents who have raped Kogi State in the last twelve years. There is more to that story than meets the eyes.”
It would be recalled that Audu defeated 27 aspirants other during the primary election held last Saturday in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State.
