Forget Lugard House, PDP Aspirant Tells APC

People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and aspirant in the 2016 governorship election in Kogi State, Alhaji Mohammed Jibril Ahmed has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to shelf its ambition of clinching the state’s seat of power in the coming election.

 

Alhaji Jibril who step down for Governor Ibrahim Idris in 2013 governorship election in the state, said the opposition party’s aspiration cannot be realize in the coming election.

 

He said the PDP is stoutly on ground and would not yield the state’s most coveted seat to APC any time soon.

 

Jibril who said he has what it takes to propel the state to greater height, noted that  what the state needs is a leadership that is courageous, humane, wise and selfless without pretension and obsessed with fundamental base upon which the unity of the people could be effectively guaranteed.

 

“Let me commend the PDP stake holders for their performance in the general election in the midst of the presidential whirlwind, the State stood firm having majority of the State House of Assembly and will do all to retain the State,” he told Daily Trust Saturday in an interview in Abuja yesterday.

 

Alhaji Mohammed Jibril who hails from Ankpa in the Eastern Senatorial district promised to make his blue print for the transformation of the state known in due course.

 

The aspirants who gave reasons why he is in the race said: “Bearing in mind the need to develop our beloved state; coupled with deep reflection and wide consultation with stakeholders who cherish the importance of providing good leadership, I have resolved to contest for the office of the Governor of Kogi State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”.
