The call has once again been made that Capt Idris Wada is the candidate of choice and the only alternative to contest the 2015 Governorship on the platform of the PDP.
The call was made known in a Press Conference, organized by “Consolidation Group”, a Non Governmental Organization, made up of Elites, Professionals, the Intelligentsia, and Citizens of Kogi State in Diaspora.
Addressing newsmen, Arc. Isimi Baba, the convener of the group, made it abundantly clear, that towards ensuring party cohesiveness, the group has endorsed Capt Idris Wada as the PDP candidate for the forth coming Governorship election.
Isimi appealed to members of the PDP to shun misgivings, divisions and disagreement, but should rather work assiduously for the victory of the party in the forth coming governorship poll.
The convener of the group said Capt Wada has done well within difficult economic situation, pointing out that amidst difficult financial challenge, the governor has been able to manage the payment of salaries to workers in the state as well as achieved ground breaking progress in the infrastructural development.
He listed the massive strides made by the governor in the agriculture sector, the improvement attained in the health sector as well as the governor’s efforts in the human capital development sector as some reasons behind his endorsement by the group, adding that another term would enable him consolidate on the needed developments and to move the state forward.
Isimi explained that Kogi State has under Capt Wada established a new culture of governance, and described the governor as one who is compassionate, humble and accessible. According to the convener, the state cannot afford to go back to a regime of tyranny, subjugation and humiliation, rather he said it should move to levels where governance is driven by exposure, perspectives and run with ideas.
While lauding the social engineering component of governance the present administration of Capt Wada has built in the state, another term in the office for the governor he noted would build on the core values of purpose.
Disclosing that governance goes beyond perception, he quickly added that another term for the governor would lead to the transformation of the state.
Speaking further on why his group felt Capt Wada is the viable alternative that can guarantee victory for the PDP in the state, Isimi disclosed that the purposeful leadership style of the incumbent, centered on the core objectives of building a strong and united Kogi State, should help unite people of the state in voting him as the next governor in the forth coming governorship poll.
