Kogi Govt Offers Free Treatment to 2,400 Patients

A free medical outreach in Kogi state offered surgeries for 43 patients and treatment for 2,355 others for malaria and diarrhoea.

The outreach in the three senatorial zones of the state was facilitated by Kogi state first lady Halima Wada.

The surgeries ranged from as lipotomy, herniorraphy, appendectomy, dental extractions, hysterectomy, thyroidectomy, ganglion removal and jaw mass exploration.

According to a statement from her office, the project was implemented in conjunction with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses in North America/Canada (NANNNA).

The procedure and treatment were performed at the Kogi State specialist hospital Lokoja and the upgraded comprehensive health centre, workers village, the consultant and head of the group of physicians, who covered the free medicare, Dr Onimisi Abdullahi said.

He said the patients have been placed on routine checks to ensure they are in a stable condition till they are finally healed.
