Former member of the House of Representatives, Otunba Dino Melaye, has assured his supporters that he would defeat the incumbent senator representing Kogi West senatorial district of Kogi State in the National Assembly, Senator Smart Adeyemi, in 2015 general elections.
Melaye, who is aspiring for the Kogi West senatorial seat in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gave the assurance Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the anti-corruption activist, Senator Adeyemi has failed woefully in his representation of the district at the National Assembly in the last eight years, pointing out that the Senate Committee Chairman on the FCT also failed in all indices of assessing the performance of a senator.
He said, “Every legislator has three primary responsibilities, the first is the act of representation, making sure your people enjoy their fair share of the national cake, as I speak to you in eight years there is no single federal presence in the length and breadth of Kogi West senatorial district, not one”.
