The students of Kogi State University, Anyigba have emerged the winner of this year’s edition of “My cashless campus challenge.”
The cashless campus challenge, initiated by Verve International is under the platform of Enactus Nigeria, an international non-governmental organisation as an on campus financial inclusion programme.
It is designed to empower youths to understand the socio-economic benefits of financial inclusion and encourage its adaptation as a tool for human empowerment and wealth creation.
The team from the university however beat 23 other schools from across the country with their one-on-one consultations, workshops and seminars with community people who they equally empowered to embrace cashless system as a way of life.
Under the scheme, each team is free to develop and implement robust and creative publicity campaign to empower members of their institutions and host communities with information about the concept and benefits of the cashless economy and mobile transactions.
Under individual category, a student of the institution, Theophilus Apka also won the most creative and resourceful prize and for the achievement , he is entitled to all expenses paid trip to participate at the Enactus World Cup holding in China this October.
