Kogi Govt To Pay Gratuities, Pension Harmonisation

Arrangements for the payment of pension harmonization and gratuities for retired Civil Servants in Kogi State have been concluded.

Kogi State Governor Capt Idris Wada stated this at this year’s celebration of the 2014 Civil Service Day, held in Lokoja.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, assured of his administration’s commitment in ensuring that workers are comfortable at work and at home through the provision of working tools and essentials of life.

The Governor who warned against rumour mongering, frivolous petition writing and acts of lawlessness, said the remarkable changes and success his administration has recorded has been achieved through collective sacrifice, determination, courage, prudence and vision of his administration working in harmony with the workforce.

While he assured of regular and prompt payment of salaries and allowances, priority, he added will be accorded the workforce, in the distribution of amenities to the various sectors of the State’s economy.

The Governor promised to work with the  State workforce to lift the State from the clutches of poverty and under development, urged the workers to devote their energies to useful production and positive development of the State.

While he maintained that the administration is committed to making the Civil Service the engine room of Government, Capt. Wada charged workers to remain honest, loyal, prudent and selflessly committed to service in the task of lifting the State to greater heights.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr Moses Atakpa, Kogi State Head of Service, commended the renewed attention the present administration has given the Civil Service, towards making it more virile, responsive and result oriented.

Dr Atakpa particularly, commended the Government’s regular payment of salaries and allowances, harmonized pension and the implementation of owner occupier Housing policy for workers among other attention, assured of workers continued loyalty, through increased commitment to the present administration’s transformation agenda.

Highlights of the grand finale of this year’s celebration were matched past by participating Ministry’s and the presentation of awards to winners.
