Chief Medical Director of Kogi State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Edino Tijani, has said that the hospital requires N276m to take off.
The Chief Medical Director said this yesterday in Lokoja, while briefing Governor Idris Wada on the situation at the hospital.
According to him, the grant would take care of renovation of existing structures, procurement of medical, laboratory, theater and office equipment as well as recruitment of consultants and other staff.
He said they had already established an effective administrative structure and accounting system to fast tract its operations, adding that the organizational chat of the hospital is structured in line with that of the federal university teaching hospitals. He added that the hospital has a staff strength of 153 and requires additional 139 personnel to function efficiently.
Responding, Governor Idris Wada said 100 hectares of land have been cleared for the permanent site of the hospital, while contractors handling various construction projects would be mobilized to site in the next one week.
