Ibaji residents in Kogi State have appealed to Governor Idris Wada to rehabilitate the Oyendega road that was washed away by the 2012 flood that ravaged the state.
Some residents who spoke with reporter yesterday in Idah said Governor Wada had promised to rehabilitate the road after the flood but nothing has been done on it.
A resident, John Ojata, said the bad condition of the road has prevented people from going home with their vehicles to prevent more expenses.

According to him, after the flood, the governor promised to rehabilitate the road but nothing has been done on the road while they face hardship every day. He called on the state government to rehabilitate the road to ease their suffering and high cost of transportation by motorcycles.
Another resident, Musa, said the situation of the road is worrisome as it is over a year the state government promised to rehabilitate it. According to him, they only brought bulldozers, earth moving and other construction equipment to the area and they have been there for almost a year without working. Other residents who spoke with Daily Trust appealed to the government to fulfil its promise.
