According to the spokesman of the group, Yaqub Adebola, ”it is imperative for political office holders to live up to the mandate given to them”, saying, ”we are compelled to act now in the interest of the people of Yagba East”.
The group which is said to be enjoying financial support from a chieftain of the ACN and an Abuja based businessman, Comrade David Dare Olatunde said it is high time the people of the constituency replaced Hon. Ojuola with a performer.
The group claimed it has secured hundreds of signatures and believe it is determined to ensure Hon. Ojuola is removed from the House.
”We are enjoying tremendous support from our leaders and we know that his days are numbered in the House. We have the blessing of the authentic leader of the party in Yagba East, Comrade David Olatunde and we shall succeed”, Yaqub said.
Efforts of The Banner to reach Hon. Ojuola proved abortive but an aide to the Barrister, Mr Ipinjaro Ola told www.bannernewsonlineng.com that the plan is doomed top fail.
According to him, ”the plan of the incurable irredentists to recall Ojuola will surely fail because the honourable member is a man of the people”, he said.
Mr Ola said Hon. Ojuola was the one who ensured NECO fees are paid in Kogi State till today. He said Ojuola was also the one who led the move that gave birth to the College of Education in Kabba.
”Today, he has become an authority in the House and he has also impacted on the Yagba East people. We are not unaware that some blindfolded people are trying to remove him. No one can achieve that”, he said.
When contacted, a chieftain of the ACN in Yagba East, Comrade Dare Olatunde declined to comment on the issue. But when pressed harder, he said that he will never silence the people.
