Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, has assured the people of the state of adequately security for their businesses, adding that arrangement has been concluded with a South Africa-based businessman to invest in the state.

Wada disclosed this yesterday while briefing journalists after arriving from the World Economic Forum, where he presented a paper in South Africa. He said the state is poised to tackle the challenges facing it in the area of agriculture.

The governor said his administration has allocated 1, 500 hectares of land for investors, adding that the investors are scheduled to arrive in the state to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, soon.

Governor Wada noted that the state was confronted with some teething problems in the area of land allocation, but that the state government has cleared about 3, 000 hectares of land which is about 20 percent of the total land allocated for the incoming investor.

Wada emphatically stated that Kogi State is one of the most peaceful states in the country today, considering the security challenges ravaging some sections of the country.

He noted that those who are referring to the state as unsafe are wicked people, who want to score cheap political point, assuring that the state government will provide adequate security to all investors in the state.
