We wish to call the attention of the general public, states and international organisations to the following ways Kogi State State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) in collaboration with Kogi State Government  has planned to rig tomorrow’s Local Government Poll.

1. You will notice that KOSIEC did not comply with electoral guideline which stipulates that Voters register should be displayed before election. This means we are expected to see strange names and removal of some names from the voter’s register.

2. KOSIEC did not comply to the marking of voting points as stipulated in our electoral law. This means some voting points can be can be taking to houses of PDP leaders or claim votes in an invisible units.

3. IT HAS BEEN ALLEGED that KOSIEC has handed over part of the electoral materials to some PDP leaders at their local government who believes they are SMART and this has not being refuted by the leadership of KOSIEC.

These and many more are the ways they plan to manipulate tomorrow’s election but we will not allow that. Even if its half the material that gets to various voting units, we will insist on the announcement of results based on only that half material.  We also wish to state categorically that result sheets meant for the election must be shown to the various party agents and all votes counted and announced at the various polling units in accordance with the electoral act 2010 as amended.

We will resist any attempt or attempted attempt to short change or rig tomorrow’s election. We urge our members and the public to remain peaceful and calm as we believe KOSIEC will harken to the voice of the people which is the voice of God.

Here Comes Habib Sanni – The Mail Man!

The last person nicknamed the “Mail-Man” was the UTA Basketball Center and forward Carl Malone because he always delivers the winning points against Michael Jordan. Please, welcome the Okene, Ebira born Mail-Man Habib Sanni contesting for the Chairmanship of Okene Local Government.

Displaying youth, candor, character and energy is our own Habib Itopa Sanni vying for the Chairmanship of Okene Local Government

Born in Okene to the famous and educated Ikunaiye Family (younger cousin to the late Dan Ikunaiye – Events of Our Time -Nigerian Herald), it appears that Habib is ready for the leadership exchange baton and about to become the “Change Agent” that we need to shake-up the functionaries of Okene Local Government.

“We are the change we’ve been waiting for,” he said in his pre-printed manifesto and he sure represents that “change” to me.

As an Okene indigene myself and looking from the outside world as far as the America – it appears that the Unijos Educated Chemistry major is the real deal. I was taken aback when I combed through his manifestoes and the thoughts that he displayed as an up and coming CEO.

Some said that one of the many reasons politician tell lies is because the public doesn’t want to hear the truth, but Habib Sanni’s tells the whole truth as he said and I quote “We have neglected Okene Local Government for too long and it’s about time we uplift the LG to her rightful status to compete measurably with Lokoja – the state capital”.

Politicians tells lies because people want to hear what they want to hear and don’t want the truth, but not Habib Sanni – the Mail-Man – who sound like the NIPOST Mail man who will always deliver no matter what.

When two candidates are running and one of them tells the truth and the other says what the public wants to hear, the one who says what the public wants to hear wins the election. Thus, and there are exceptions to this, if you want to win an election, you better start lying, because the guy who’s telling you the truth doesn’t have a chance – but I disagree with that notion.

Running for elections in America or any of the so-called advanced world you lose election if you are a notable liar. You have to say what you can do and what you will do supported by the facts.

Habib Sanni who has done remarkable work in education for the teeming youths is a different politicians when he remarked that “we’ll need to expand economic powers of Okene and Ebira as a whole” to enable future politicians deliver on their promises and that is exactly how it stands.

Support Habib Sanni because he may be the next Yahaya Bello – Fairplus as Governor of Kogi State – and the “Struggle Continues.”
