As reactions kept pouring in on the achievements of Governor Idris Wad within his first year in office, a respected Kogi politician, Engineer George-Olumoroti Olusola has scored Wada low.
In his response to the list of achievements as reeled out by government media aides, Olumoroti wondered why the state has totally neglected the core sectors that have the highest employment potential for the youths. He mentioned sectors like sports, information technology and tourism.
“Can somebody remind Capt. Idris Wada and his Deputy, Arc Yomi Awoniyi that they are not local government chairman and vice, he querried.
“While other governors like Adams Oshiomole, Okorocha, Fashola and Rotimi Amaechi commissioned major road projects, rehabilitation of schools, water projects amongst others to celebrate one year in office; our own governor is adding insult to injury by feasting on lies;
“How can he ever claim regular salary payment to Kogi civil servants, how can he count Iyara, Kabba and Kotonkarfi township roads as part of his achievement when he has left them in worse state than he met them and how on earth can he lay claim to youth empowerment when Kogi currently has one of the largest pool of unemployed youths and without hope of a better tomorrow.
“Wada/Awoniyi, the earlier the two 0f you wakes up from your slumber and take decisive steps towards real transformation of Kogi state the better…for me it is one year of visionlessness and hopelessness.
