Senator Isah Jibrin, who represents Kogi East Senatorial District and is popularly known as Echocho, has distributed additional solar-powered streetlights to schools and communities across the district, in a move aimed at improving security and public safety.
The lights were presented to representatives of beneficiary communities on the senator’s behalf by his Personal Assistant, Okpanachi Abubakar, who said the gesture reflected the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare, safety and development of his constituents.
Abubakar said the intervention is intended to improve lighting in schools and communities at night, creating a safer environment for residents, students and other members of the public.

The solar-powered lights are expected to improve visibility in the beneficiary areas, help address security concerns and make public spaces safer to access after dark.
Representatives of the beneficiary communities, speaking separately, thanked Jibrin for the intervention and described it as a welcome development. They also expressed appreciation for his continued support and pledged to back his representation.
The initiative highlights the role of community-focused projects in addressing local infrastructure and security needs across Kogi East, officials said.
