In a renewed effort to deepen party cohesion and strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of future political engagements, the Personal Assistant to the Kogi State Governor (Ministry of Education), Comrade Rufus Obafemi, has called on stakeholders, executives, and faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ileteju/Origa Ward, Ijumu Local Government Area, to prioritize unity, peaceful coexistence, and unflinching loyalty to the ruling party.

Comrade Obafemi made the appeal during a strategic APC ward meeting convened at his country home in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area, where party members gathered to deliberate on internal harmony, grassroots solidarity, and the long-term prospects of the party.

Addressing the stakeholders, the Governor’s aide highlighted unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility as the bedrock of sustainable political development. He emphasized that the continued strength of the APC hinges on the readiness of its members to put party interests above personal ambitions.

He commended the ward executive committee for its dedication to reinforcing party structures, mobilizing supporters at the grassroots level, and maintaining the party’s dominance in the area.

In a special tribute, Comrade Obafemi paid homage to the founding fathers and pioneer members of the APC in Ileteju/Origa Ward, recognizing their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering loyalty as the foundation of the party’s growth and stability over the years.

Warning against divisive tendencies, the Governor’s aide cautioned party members against clannishness and factionalism, noting that political disagreements should never be permitted to jeopardize the collective vision of the party. He stressed that political progress flourishes in an atmosphere of inclusiveness, maturity, and mutual respect.

“The APC must remain a platform where every committed member feels respected, valued, and included, irrespective of personal affiliations or differences in opinion,” Obafemi stated, urging members to act as partners in progress rather than competitors.

With political activities steadily picking up momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Obafemi urged stakeholders to intensify grassroots engagement, foster internal reconciliation, and uphold the discipline required to secure victory in upcoming electoral cycles.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment by ward leaders and faithful to maintain a peaceful, inclusive political environment and work cohesively toward a stronger, more united APC in Ijumu Local Government Area and Kogi State at large.
