In an unprecedented display of political solidarity and grassroots mobilization, thousands of youths from across the Okun-speaking communities of Kogi State under the auspices of the Okun Youth Stakeholders Forum have declared total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, pledging a massive turnout of votes for both leaders in the 2027 general elections.
The historic endorsement rally, which brought activities in the ancient town to a standstill on Friday, was held at the iconic Igbo Hall in Kabba, the traditional headquarters of Okun Nation in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area. The event drew an impressive and unprecedented crowd of youth leaders, community activists, and key political stakeholders drawn from all five local government areas comprising Okunland.
The day’s activities commenced with a vibrant, colourful procession through the major thoroughfares of Kabba. Thousands of enthusiastic youths marched through the streets in high spirits, chanting victory songs, displaying banners, and echoing the popular anthem, “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” as curious onlookers and commercial operators cheered in approval.

Moving en masse into Igbo Hall following the street rally, representatives and youth spokespersons from various districts took turns at the podium to deliver fiery speeches praising the developmental strides and visionary leadership of both President Tinubu at the centre and Governor Ododo in Kogi State.

Speaking at the forum, key youth representatives described the performances and scorecard of the duo as overwhelming justification for a second term. They noted that the socio-economic policies, infrastructure projects, and strategic reforms implemented by both administrations have laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth, making a case for continuity non-negotiable.
“Our endorsement today is not borne out of sentiment, but out of a meticulous and objective assessment of performance,” a forum spokesperson stated. “President Tinubu’s federal interventions and Governor Ododo’s impact-driven leadership in Kogi State deserve our unalloyed loyalty and continuous backing to enable them deepen their achievements.”
The forum urged Okun youths across the federal constituency to remain politically conscious, united, and actively engaged in the democratic process. They emphasized that the upcoming 2027 polls offer a critical platform to consolidate developmental gains and secure a brighter future for the region.
Addressing youth welfare, the leaders called for heightened collaboration between the government and the younger demographic. They advocated for expanded youth inclusion in governance, targeted job creation, vocational skills acquisition, educational subsidies, and socio-economic empowerment schemes tailored for the Okun youth constituency.
Concluding the high-octane gathering, the Okun Youth Stakeholders Forum formally pledged to launch a robust, door-to-door grassroots campaign. They vowed to carry the message of governance continuity to every hamlet, village, ward, and polling unit across Okunland to guarantee a decisive electoral victory for Tinubu and Ododo when the nation goes to the polls in 2027.
The rally ended amid grand celebration, with delegates renewing calls for regional unity, peaceful political participation, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Kogi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
