  • Dangote, Rabiu, Akpabio, Wike, governors, monarchs line up for ‘The Courage to Reform’ presentation

The political temperature in the nation’s capital is set to rise on November 5, 2026, as the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Door-to-Door Movement stages a high-profile book presentation and launch in support of the President’s re-election bid.

The event, scheduled for the Bola Ahmed International Conference Centre, Abuja, is being organised under the auspices of the movement, which was founded and is sponsored by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Dr Tompolo.

The book, titled The Courage to Reform: Architecture of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Beyond 2027, Statecraft, Vision for National Renewal, is expected to examine the President’s leadership philosophy, policy reforms and vision for Nigeria’s political and economic future.

President Tinubu is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour. Industrialist and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has been named Chief Launcher, while the Chairman of BUA Cement Plc, Abdul Samad Rabiu, will serve as Co-Chief Launcher.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, will chair the occasion. Dr Tompolo, who is the founder, sponsor and Grand Patron of the movement, will be the Chief Host, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is listed as host of the event.

The line-up of expected guests reads like a roll call of the country’s political establishment. They include the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and members of the APC National Working Committee.

Also listed are Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, identified in the event programme as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters. Members of the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly are also expected.

The governors’ delegation is expected to be led by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, alongside other state chief executives.

Traditional institutions will also be well represented. The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, are among the royal fathers expected. Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, founder of the Tinubu Support Group, is also listed among the distinguished participants.

Members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, religious organisations and youth groups are also expected, a sign of the organisers’ ambition to draw participants from different sectors of Nigerian public life.

Beyond the ceremonial presentation, the launch is expected to give supporters of the President a platform to articulate their interpretation of his reform agenda, assess its implications for national development and make the case for policy continuity beyond 2027.

The choice of Dangote and Rabiu as launchers underscores the organisers’ intention to bring political leadership and private-sector influence together around discussions on governance, economic reforms and national development.

The event comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections. Its stated support for the President’s re-election bid gives the gathering a clear political dimension, positioning it as part of a wider effort by his supporters to promote the administration’s record and build support for continuity.

However, the debate over the administration’s reform programme extends beyond political advocacy. Its long-term significance will ultimately be judged by its effects on Nigerians, including economic opportunities, purchasing power, employment, access to public services and overall living standards.

According to the organisers, attendance at the event will be strictly by invitation.
