As preparations gather momentum for the 2027 political season, the PDP candidate for Ogugu State Constituency, Michael Samuel Idoko, has declared his readiness to formally commence his campaign activities at the appropriate time, while appealing for patience and calm among party members and stakeholders.
Idoko said the decision to delay the official flag-off was borne out of respect for recent solemn events within the political family, particularly the passing of former Kogi State Governor and respected leader, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
He also expressed solidarity with Rt. Hon. Zachariah, Member representing Idah Federal Constituency and PDP candidate for Idah Federal Constituency, following the burial of his beloved mother.

According to Idoko, political activities must at all times be balanced with humanity, respect and sensitivity to the circumstances of others.
“Politics is important, but humanity comes first. There are moments when political activities must give way to mourning, reflection and solidarity with those who have lost loved ones,” he said.
The PDP candidate stressed that his political journey is being guided by discipline, respect for established institutions and fidelity to the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He maintained that the PDP, as a major political organisation, has an established structure and constitutional framework which must be respected by all its members and candidates.
“I believe in the party and I believe in its constitutional processes. Whatever decisions are legitimately taken by the appropriate organs of the party, I am prepared to work within that framework with discipline and respect,” Idoko stated.
He said the period of waiting should not be mistaken for inactivity, stressing that preparations for the official commencement of activities have continued.
“Let me assure everyone that we are ready. We are prepared. We are committed. We have used this period to strengthen our preparations and to reflect carefully on the responsibility before us,” he said.
For Idoko, the essence of political participation goes beyond the excitement of campaigns and electoral contests. He described public office as a responsibility that demands humility, accountability and a genuine commitment to the people.
He therefore urged supporters, party members and stakeholders to remain calm as the appropriate time for the official flag-off approaches.
“When the time comes, we shall step forward with clarity of purpose, discipline and a renewed commitment to service. Until then, there is no need for anxiety. The journey is progressing, and we are prepared for the responsibility ahead,” he said.
Idoko reaffirmed that his political engagement would remain anchored on respect for the PDP, its leadership and its constitutional processes, while maintaining his commitment to the people of Ogugu Constituency.
“We are ready. We are prepared. We are committed. And when the time comes, we shall step forward to present our vision for service.”
