The family of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Idris, CON, the Jakadan Sokoto, has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and other prominent Nigerians for their solidarity during the passing, burial, and 8th-day Fidau prayers of their patriarch.
In an official press statement released on behalf of the family by Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, Ochada Onu-Ife and Jakanda Wazirin Sokoto, the family extended gratitude to well-wishers across the country and in the diaspora for their prayers, condolences, and presence throughout the funeral rites.
The statement acknowledged the moral support, condolences, and prayers offered by President Tinubu, as well as the solidarity shown by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his vice presidential candidate, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.

Special appreciation was extended to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State for demonstrating exceptional leadership and ensuring the full involvement of the state government during the burial and Fidau arrangements. The family also commended the support received from Kogi State Deputy Governor, members of the Kogi State Executive Council, and former Kogi State Governors, including Capt. Idris Wada, Hajia Halima Wada, and Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The statement further recognized the support of former and serving Niger State Governors, Alhaji Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu and Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, alongside the National Chairman and National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party across all tiers, as well as former All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Prominent members of the traditional institution were praised for their key roles during the rites, notably His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III; His Royal Majesty, Attah Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, the Attah Igala and Chairman of the Kogi State Traditional Council; His Royal Highness, Alhaji Salihu Adaji Ocholi, the Onu Itobe; and His Royal Highness, Chief Boniface Musa, the Ojogba of Ife. The family also acknowledged all first-class traditional rulers, religious leaders, and dignitaries from Kogi State and beyond.
The statement paid a heartfelt tribute to the family matriarch, Hajiya Aisha Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, praising her unwavering love, care, and devotion to her late husband throughout his life and illness.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris expressed appreciation to the “Ibro Political Family,” associates, and citizens from all walks of life, soliciting continued prayers for the family’s fortitude while praying that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the late elder statesman and grant him Aljanatul Firdausi.
