The member representing the Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN), has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, following his passing.
Hon. Haruna, a political protégé of the late elder statesman popularly known as “Ibro,” described the demise of his political father and mentor as a deeply painful loss to the immediate family, his political associates, and the entire populace of Kogi State.
Reflecting on the life and impact of the former governor, the lawmaker noted that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris left an indelible mark on the political history of Kogi State. He emphasized that the late patriarch exemplified enduring values of leadership, mentorship, loyalty, and dedicated service throughout his public and private life.
With emotional reverence, Hon. Haruna urged the bereaved family to take solace in the divine will of Almighty Allah and in the remarkable legacy left behind by their patriarch.
He offered prayers asking Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late governor, accept his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, while giving the family and his numerous political associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
