The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik, has declared that the council remains peaceful, united, and firmly aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of upcoming elections.
Hon. Musa made the declaration on Monday while receiving the Workplace Security Campaign team, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, during a sensitisation tour in the area.
Describing the tour as timely and result-oriented, the council chairman noted that Governor Ododo’s track record of performance speaks for itself, adding that the people of Kogi LGA fully appreciate the administration’s focus on infrastructure and civil service welfare.
“This visit is the first of its kind, considering the calibre of former and present labour leaders who are genuinely committed to the growth of the state,” Hon. Musa stated. “I am grateful indeed, and there is no doubt that Kogi Local Government is a family local government that stands firm with Ododo and President Tinubu.”
Speaking on behalf of local government employees, the NULGE Chairman in the area, Comrade Yakubu Mohammed, commended Governor Ododo for prioritizing worker welfare and appointing veteran trade unionists—including Comrade Edoka—into key administrative positions. He subsequently announced a unanimous vote of confidence and total electoral backing for both the Governor and the President from council workers.
Reinforcing the sentiment, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Gabriel Amari, cautioned workers against falling prey to political manipulation. He stressed that the Ododo administration has earned the workforce’s trust through tangible achievements in labor relations and welfare programs.
Delivering the sensitization address, team leader Comrade Onuh Edoka provided practical guidance on personal safety and workplace vigilance. He advised civil servants to maintain open communication about their movements, cultivate positive community relations, and make strategic choices to safeguard their professional futures.
Edoka assured the local council leadership of the state workforce’s sustained cooperation, praising Hon. Musa for his receptive leadership and dedication to peace in the area.
