The 10th edition of the Igala Nation’s Cup concluded with a nail-biting penalty shootout on Saturday at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, as Aminu Flow Academy of Ajaka (Igalamela LGA) edged out Dynamic Stars FC of Ogodo, Ankpa, 8–7 to be crowned champions.
The final doubled as a showcase of community spirit, drawing players, fans, traditional leaders and political stakeholders. QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman FNIQS chaired the occasion and served as the principal sponsor of the 2026 tournament.
Also in attendance was Chief Pharmacist Peter Yakubu Iduh, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Idah Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Ceremonial Kick-Off and Tournament Impact
Before kickoff, QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman FNIQS performed the ceremonial first kick, marking the climax of a competition designed to nurture young talent and provide a visible pathway for grassroots footballers to compete and grow.
His commitment extended well beyond the final. He funded the official match kits for every participating team and underwrote ₦3 million in prize money for the top three finishers.

Speaking to players and spectators, QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman FNIQS stressed that grassroots sports require consistent investment because of their power to shape disciplined, united and opportunity-rich communities.
“This is more than football. It is about our young people, their talents, their dreams and the opportunities we create for them. When we invest in sports, we invest in discipline, unity and the future of our communities.”
Tournament Vision
Coach Kamar Umar Olachene, the tournament organiser, said the Igala Nation’s Cup was conceived to unearth talent, boost sports participation and use football as a bridge across communities.
