Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Vibranium Group, has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing his journey in public service as an example of responsibility, sacrifice and commitment to the people.
In a message marking the Vice President’s birthday, Alfa said Shettima’s career, from the banking sector to the governorship of Borno State and later the Vice Presidency, had given a special meaning to leadership.
He described Shettima as a respected leader, mentor and friend who had made a personal impact on his own journey into public service.
Alfa said his decision to seek elective public office was influenced by his close relationship with the Vice President.
“I have always loved the business world. Even though I have been close to politics for most of my life, having come from a political family, I was never in a hurry to seek elective public office. But you gave me every reason to take that step,” he said.
According to him, Shettima’s approach to public service makes it difficult for those around him not to appreciate the importance of serving the people.
“No one can spend time around you and not begin to understand why public service matters,” Alfa said.
He praised the Vice President for the sacrifices he continues to make in carrying out his responsibilities, saying the demands of his office are enormous.
“The demands of your office are enormous, the expectations are high, yet you continue to show up, listen, work and give your best. Sometimes, I genuinely wonder how you manage to do all that you do,” he said.
Alfa also spoke about his personal experience with the Vice President, describing him as a person who is willing to listen, offer advice and encourage those around him.
“I have had the privilege of knowing you beyond the office you occupy. I have seen your kindness, your willingness to listen and your readiness to offer counsel when it matters,” he said.
He added that Shettima had helped him understand that public office should be viewed primarily as an opportunity to serve rather than as a position of privilege.
“Your advice and encouragement have meant a great deal to me, and I remain grateful for the confidence and support you have shown me,” he said.
The Kogi East political aspirant said Nigeria was passing through an important period and needed leaders who understood the responsibility that comes with public office.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant Shettima wisdom, strength and good health to serve Nigeria.
“May the years ahead bring you greater fulfilment, greater wisdom and many more opportunities to make a difference in the lives of Nigerians,” Alfa said.
He thanked the Vice President for his friendship, counsel and encouragement, while wishing him many more years of service to the country.
“Thank you for your friendship, your counsel, your encouragement and, most importantly, the example you continue to set,” he said.
