There was an outpouring of excitement and celebration across communities in Kogi Central as many residents welcomed the appearance of the name of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) senatorial candidates’ list.
From the streets of Okene to the communities of Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Ogori/Magongo, the development became a major topic of discussion in markets, motor parks, village squares, business centres, homes, and among youth and women’s groups. Across social media platforms, supporters and residents shared congratulatory messages, expressing optimism about the political journey ahead.
Many residents described the development as a moment of pride for the district, saying they believe Yahaya Bello remains one of the most widely recognized political figures to emerge from Kogi Central. According to many supporters, his appearance on the INEC list has renewed enthusiasm among party members and grassroots mobilizers across the five Local Government Areas.
Community stakeholders, youth leaders, women groups, artisans, traders, and party faithful have continued to express confidence in what they see as an opportunity to strengthen Kogi Central’s voice at the National Assembly. They say the conversations in communities are increasingly focused on unity, participation, and mobilization ahead of the election.
Across wards and polling units, supporters have begun encouraging eligible voters to remain engaged in the democratic process, emphasizing the importance of peaceful participation and high voter turnout. Many believe that the district’s future will be shaped by the collective decision of its people at the ballot box.
The prevailing mood among supporters is one of hope and determination. They say the journey toward the election has gathered momentum and are calling on residents across every community, ward, and Local Government Area to remain united, continue peaceful engagement, and work together toward achieving their shared political aspirations.
For many supporters, the message is simple: Kogi Central’s strength lies in its unity, and the voice of the people will ultimately be expressed through the democratic process. As preparations for the election continue, the streets, communities, and online spaces remain alive with conversations reflecting the enthusiasm of many residents for the months ahead.
