The Ogidi Development Union (ODU) has publicly commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for a series of recent interventions benefiting Ogidi Kingdom, including a chieftaincy promotion, the release of road construction funds, and the upgrade of the community’s traditional stool.

In a letter of appreciation signed by its President, Raphael Kayode Eniolorunda, the union thanked the governor on behalf of “the good people of Ogidi Kingdom” for a number of decisions it described as evidence of his administration’s commitment to rewarding loyalty and service.

Among the highlights cited by the union was the elevation of Very High Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, the Olukoko Arolupotopoto of Ogidi Kingdom, from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Land Matters. Chief Ipinmisho also serves as Director of Public Affairs for the ODU. The union described the promotion as recognition of his competence and dedication to public service.

The letter also expressed gratitude for the release of funds earmarked for the reconstruction of the Asaya–Ogidi–Ayere road, a project the union called a long-term legacy investment expected to boost commerce and ease transportation difficulties for residents of the affected communities.

The union further commended the upgrade of the throne of the Ologidi to First Class status, alongside the promotion of three other Ogidi traditional chiefs to Third Class status. According to the ODU, the recognitions have strengthened the kingdom’s traditional institution and brought honor to its heritage.

Beyond the appreciation, the ODU used the letter to reaffirm its political backing for Governor Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging what it called “total commitment and mobilization” toward their re-election bids in 2027.

The letter closed with prayers for divine guidance and protection over the governor’s administration.

The Ogidi Development Union is a socio-cultural body representing the interests of Ogidi Kingdom and its indigenes.
