The Kogi state Political Elite Forum has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the appointment of Dr. Abuh Mohammed, an illustrious son of Kogi State, as the Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Prof. Ronke Bello: Member of the National Salaries incomes and Wages Commission , Comrade Tosin Adeyanju into Revenue Mobilization Allocation , Engr. Abdullahi Ibrahim Oguche – Director (Technical Services), Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and others
In a statement signed by Mr. Ojonuba Jacob, the forum described the appointment as a “well-considered and reassuring” move. They noted that the decision reflects the President’s resolve to entrust key national institutions to professionals with proven competence, experience, and integrity.
The forum characterized Dr. Mohammed as a thoroughbred professional whose career has been defined by discipline and a track record of excellence. With years of experience in the sector, the group expressed absolute confidence in his deep understanding of demographic dynamics, data integrity, and strategic planning.
“Dr. Mohammed brings a wealth of experience in national demographics. His leadership will be instrumental in ensuring transparent, technology-driven censuses and reliable vital statistics that the nation can be proud of,” the statement read.
While thanking the President for the confidence reposed in their son, the group declared that the Igala nation would reciprocate the gesture with massive support in future elections.
The forum further noted that the appointment would reposition population data as a central pillar of national development. They wished Dr. Mohammed success in his new role, expressing optimism that his tenure would strengthen the NPC’s institutional capacity and support the President’s reform agenda.
“This appointment is a testament to the President’s vision for national development,” Jacob said. He added that the Igala people are prepared to reward the President’s inclusive governance with continued political support. The group concluded by wishing the new Director-General success in his mission to reposition the NPC for the benefit of all Nigerians.
