Politics is often drowned in noise, but statesmanship is ultimately measured by substance. While some expend their energy on insults, falsehoods, propaganda, sycophancy, and endless political skirmishes, history remembers those who build institutions, empower people, and leave enduring legacies.

It is for this reason that Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke occupies a place in contemporary Nigerian politics that cannot be diminished by the transient controversies manufactured by political opportunists and appointment seekers in Kogi State.

A man who has spent decades building an enviable political career in the highly competitive political environment of Lagos State, earning national respect in the House of Representatives and maintaining influence across Nigeria, cannot be reduced to the level of local political merchants whose relevance depends on attacking personalities whose records far surpass theirs.

As the saying goes, the height of a mighty tree is never determined by the weeds growing around it.

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke represents a rare blend of loyalty, competence, courage, discipline, and political consistency. His standing in Nigeria’s political landscape rises far above the narrow calculations of those who seek relevance through needless controversies.

From his humble beginnings at his home state of Kogi to serving two successful terms as Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, and now one of the most respected members of the House of Representatives, his journey demonstrates that enduring leadership is earned through sacrifice, competence, hard work, and selfless service, not through loud rhetoric or manufactured falsehoods.

His political career has been defined by steady growth and remarkable accomplishments. Across successive administrations, he has remained relevant because he has consistently chosen performance over propaganda, loyalty over betrayal, and service over self promotion.

Few politicians enjoy the confidence and respect of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders within the progressive family like him.

Such confidence is never accidental; it is earned through years of integrity, competence, dependability, and unwavering commitment to progressive ideals.

His influence extends far beyond petty politics of a state into National political landscape across Nigeria, where many admire his humility, accessibility, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the ordinary Nigerian people.

Countless young, not too young and women politicians regard him as a mentor whose philosophy emphasizes empowerment over exploitation.

Unfortunately, politics also attracts individuals who mistake noise for relevance. Some self appointed political defenders imagine that dragging Hon. Faleke’s name into needless controversies will earn them public attention, political appointments, or patronage.

They assume that attacking perceived opponents in his name somehow enhances their own standing.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

A distinguished statesman does not require rented combatants to defend his reputation.

Character speaks louder than hired voices. Legacy cannot be manufactured through insults, and credibility cannot be purchased through social media theatrics.

Those who truly know Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke understands him as a bridge builder rather than a destroyer. He believes in persuasion instead of intimidation, dialogue instead of needless confrontation, and political maturity instead of reckless provocation.

His public conduct over the years has reflected restraint, discipline, wisdom, and strategic thinking.

Men and women who possess genuine influence rarely feel compelled to advertise it. The deepest rivers flow quietly, while empty vessels make the loudest noise.

Politicians attempting exploiting Faleke’s name for personal gain neither represent his values nor enhance his reputation.

His political journey is far too distinguished to be defined by the actions of political adventurers. His reputation has been built over decades through dedicated public service, legislative excellence, constituency development, and unwavering loyalty to the progressive cause.

Many discerning observers acknowledge the cordial relationship and mutual respect between Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, and Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

It is therefore important that individuals who seek to create unnecessary divisions among respected leaders of Kogi State are discouraged from presenting themselves as unofficial spokespersons or defenders of those leaders.

While differences of opinion are inevitable in politics, responsible leadership distinguishes between constructive engagement and needless provocation.

Those who engage in divisive or self serving conduct should not be mistaken for speaking on behalf of respected political leaders without clear authority.

Leadership is not measured by the number of enemies one creates but by the number of lives one transforms.

By that standard, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke stands among the most accomplished political leaders to emerge from Kogi State and one of the distinguished progressive voices in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

Greatness follows an immutable principle: promotion comes from God, while human beings merely witness its manifestation. Those who pursue recognition through bitterness eventually discover that honour cannot be stolen from another person’s destiny.

As Scripture reminds us, wisdom is justified by her works, and a good name is better than great riches.

Every great leader attracts criticism. The higher the mountain, the stronger the winds that beat against it. Yet the mountain remains standing long after the storms have passed.

Today, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke’s political relevance is neither accidental nor temporary. It rests upon decades of consistency, sacrifice, competence, loyalty, and public confidence. Such a legacy cannot be erased by anonymous attacks or manufactured controversies.

Millions of men and women in kogi state and beyond, who genuinely admire Hon. Faleke should emulate his discipline, humility, respect for institutions, and commitment to public service rather than weaponizing his name for personal advancement. The greatest tribute anyone can pay a respected leader is not blind loyalty but exemplary conduct.

As Kogi State and Nigeria continue their democratic journey, leaders who have consistently demonstrated vision, capacity, loyalty, and integrity will remain indispensable to Kogi state and nation building. Rt. Hon. Faleke belongs to that distinguished class of leaders whose influence transcends local rumor mills and whose contributions continue to shape progressive politics in Lagos State, Kogi State, and Nigeria.

When the political history of this generation is eventually written, Hon. Faleke will be remembered not for the distractions created around his name but for the enduring impact of his leadership, character, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people and public service.
