The claim that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has done nothing in Kogi East since assuming office is not only misleading but completely at variance with verifiable facts on the ground. Development under the Ododo administration has been spread across the three senatorial districts, with Kogi East enjoying significant investments in roads, healthcare, education, power infrastructure and rural development.

In the area of road infrastructure alone, no fewer than 18 road projects are currently ongoing across Kogi East. Dekina Local Government Area is benefiting from the construction and rehabilitation of the Ayingba–Agala–Ate Road, Elubi–Etiaja–Ajakwu–Ilaja Road, Ajekalaga–Ajeguna–Abocho Road, Odu–Ogboyaga–Odu Ogegele Road, Olubojo–Ojogba–Abocho Road, Ebeje Owalah–Ebeje Abolika–Ebeje Erabo Road, Ogbagbo–Ojoto Road and the Iyale–Ajachaga–Odolu Road.

Olamaboro has the Odidoko–Ugbamaka–Ubojo–Oloyo–Emakpe Road, Efekpe–Ogolale Road and Alah–Agala–Agoh Road under rehabilitation, while Omala is witnessing work on the Ibado Akpacha–Ojiaji–Ogodu Road as well as the ongoing township road construction in Abejukolo.

In Ofu, the Ejule–Okabo Road is under construction, while Igalamela/Odolu is benefiting from the Ayikpele–Okochobe–Etutobo–Ufugu Road and the Umochina–Nokwa–Amaoba Road.

Idah Local Government Area is equally benefiting through the Obakolo–Okenya Road, Iyobo–Okpachalla Road and Adumu Junction–Adumu Farm Centre Road. These projects are designed to improve connectivity, open up rural communities and stimulate economic activities across Igala land.

Beyond roads, Governor Ododo recently approved the distribution of 30 electricity transformers across Kogi State, with 10 of them allocated to communities in Kogi East, a clear demonstration of his commitment to improving electricity supply and supporting economic growth in the district.

The education sector has also witnessed remarkable progress. The administration has continued to strengthen the College of Health Sciences at Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, providing support that has helped the institution secure important approvals and accreditation milestones from relevant medical regulatory bodies, thereby expanding opportunities for medical education and healthcare delivery in Kogi State.

The Governor has also sustained investments in healthcare, agriculture, security, education and human capital development across the state without discrimination. His leadership style has consistently demonstrated that governance is about service to all citizens, not sectional interests.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has shown himself to be a detribalised leader whose policies and projects are guided by equity, fairness and the overall development of Kogi State. Rather than playing politics with development, his administration has continued to deliver projects across Kogi East, Kogi Central and Kogi West based on the needs of the people.

Those who claim that nothing is happening in Kogi East are either deliberately ignoring the evidence or choosing politics over facts. The visible road projects, power interventions, educational advancements and other developmental initiatives across Igala land are undeniable proof that Governor Ododo’s administration is committed to inclusive governance and balanced development for every part of Kogi State.

While the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo continues to spread the dividends of democracy across Kogi East through strategic infrastructure development, the people of Ogbonicha–Abejukolo–Ofabo are earnestly appealing for the implementation of the Ogbonicha–Abejukolo–Ofabo Road project captured in the 2026 Revised Budget. The 3-kilometre road project, listed under the Ministry of Works with Project Code 17100123009600, has an approved allocation of ₦100 million for its construction.

Given that it is one of the least-cost road projects in the budget, the people humbly urge His Excellency to graciously approve and execute the project, which will significantly improve transportation, boost economic activities, ease access to neighboring communities, and further demonstrate his administration’s commitment to equitable development across all parts of Kogi State.
