The National Secretary of Concerned Creative Artistes and Entertainers Initiative 4 Tinubu (COCRAEINT), Comrade Onibiyo Dayo, has called on colleagues in the industry to unite ahead of 2027 general elections.

Speaking with newsmen at the group’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, Onibiyo said President Bola Tinubu deserves artists’ appreciation with their votes to ensure that they don’t only continue to enjoy current benefits but to get new ones, particularly the full development of the recently launched €100m Fund targeted at closing infrastructural gaps and others.

“If a man remembers your generations after sixty (60) years of existence, he deserves you to remember him in just less than four (4) years,” he said.

He went further to state that the legendary Chief Hubert Ogunde is said to have made his first international debut in 1946 to Dahomey, now known as Benin Republic with his performance, “now remove that year from 2026, which will give you eighty (80) years, so in the real sense, we as Creatives have waited for eight (8) decades before President Tinubu GCFR came in and without further delay recognized us, and what do you say to that kind of man when he approach you for a 2nd term that you have the civic responsibility to partake in?”

When asked what exactly the iDICE fund has brought to the practitioners, Comrade Onibiyo made it clear that production is the thrust of any profession, because without production, there won’t be patronage.

“So iDICE allows you to apply for funds, so far you are qualify for it, going by their stated conditions.”

He enjoined newsmen to help escalate the information, as data has revealed that most creatives are not even aware this issue, just like the formation of the new Ministry is still unknown to many, as well as those whose trades are under the new ministry don’t even know they are members.
