ICPC Pledges Collaboration with Gov. Ododo’s Aide on Campaign Against Internet Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has promised to support the Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign initiative.

Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Barr. Elijah Akaakohol, made this known when the Senior Special Assistant on Fraud and Internet Matters to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, paid a working visit to the Kogi State office ICPC in Lokoja on Thursday.

He welcomed the proposed collaboration and affirmed the Commission’s readiness to closely with the office of the Senior Special Assistant, as well as other relevant government bodies in the state.

Bar Elijah Akaakohol also praised the state government’s decision to engage young people early through structured orientation and public education.

He assured that the ICPC in Kogi State would remain committed to promoting integrity and accountability, while contributing to efforts aimed at reducing fraud and related offences across the state.

Speaking earlier, Hon. Eleta explained that his office is seeking to strengthen cooperation with the ICPC, particularly in the areas of public sensitization and other related matters. He noted that effective information gathering remains essential in addressing crime, especially the growing challenge of internet fraud among young people.

He also commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for providing platforms such as the Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign. According to him, the initiative is designed to guide young people away from fraudulent activities by raising awareness about the legal and social consequences involved.
