In a bold reaffirmation of people-centered governance, the Executive Chairman of Ofu Local Government, Hon. Musa Muhammed Lawal, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to entrenching true democracy at the grassroots level.

The Chairman made this known while addressing a vibrant delegation of youths led by the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ofu Chapter Coordinator, Comrade Sadam Agbodu. The engagement underscored the administration’s resolve to deepen democratic dividends and foster inclusive governance across the local government.

Hon. Lawal emphasized that his leadership is anchored on delivering tangible dividends of democracy, ensuring that governance is not only felt but experienced by every citizen at the grassroots. He further stated that his administration is strategically aligned with the progressive leadership blueprint of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo, whose people-oriented policies continue to inspire impactful governance across the state.

In his remarks, Comrade Sadam Agbodu commended the Chairman’s proactive leadership style and pledged the unalloyed support and loyalty of Ofu youths towards the success of the administration. He, however, passionately appealed for sustained youth inclusion in governance and decision-making processes.

Responding, Hon. Lawal assured the youths of his administration’s readiness to carry them along as critical stakeholders in governance. He highlighted plans for strategic youth empowerment initiatives, skills acquisition programs, and the promotion of small-scale enterprises, particularly aimed at boosting women’s economic participation at the grassroots.

The engagement marks yet another milestone in strengthening the synergy between government and the youth constituency, as the Ofu Local Government leadership continues to champion participatory governance, economic inclusion, and sustainable grassroots development.
