An aspirant for the Kabba/Bunu State Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusegun John Oniwaye (Ogede1), has received spiritual blessings and prayers from the leadership of the Bunu chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
This was part of his consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The prayer meeting and interaction took place on Monday at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ayede Bunu, where leaders and members of the Christian community gathered to offer prayers and spiritual guidance for the aspirant.

The visit formed part of Hon. Ogede1’s continued engagement with key stakeholders across Bunu land as he seeks support, counsel, and divine direction in his aspiration to represent Kabba/Bunu State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Ogede1 expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of CAN and the entire Christian community in Bunu land for their warm reception and spiritual support. He noted that leadership, particularly in public service, requires not only competence and dedication but also divine guidance.
He explained that his aspiration is motivated by a genuine desire to serve the people of Kabba/Bunu with commitment, integrity, and purposeful representation. According to him, his goal is to ensure that the voice of the constituency is effectively represented in the legislative chamber while working to attract developmental projects and opportunities that will improve the living standards of the people.
Hon. Ogede1 further emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and moral leadership in community development, adding that the prayers and encouragement of the Christian community will strengthen his resolve to pursue a people-oriented legislative agenda.
In their remarks, leaders of the Bunu Christian Association of Nigeria commended Hon. Ogede1 for demonstrating humility and reverence by seeking spiritual blessings before embarking fully on his political journey.
The CAN leaders prayed for divine wisdom, strength, protection, and guidance for the aspirant, while also urging him to remain committed to the values of justice, accountability, and service to humanity.
They encouraged him to uphold the principles of fairness and inclusiveness if given the opportunity to serve, stressing that public office is a sacred trust that must be used for the common good of the people.
The gathering concluded with special prayers offered by the clergy for Hon. Ogede1, his family, and the peace and progress of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
Hon. Ogede1 expressed gratitude to the Christian leaders for their prayers, support, and fatherly counsel, assuring them that their spiritual encouragement would continue to inspire him as he engages with the people and prepares for the journey ahead.
