The political consultation and formal inauguration of Ward Steering Committee members for Ajaokuta Local Government under the banner of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro made a decisive stop in Eganyi, Ajaokuta Local Government, marking another strong statement of grassroots acceptance and growing momentum.

Addressing a large gathering of elders, youths, and women leaders, the team leader, Elder Andrew Enebe (popularly known as Andy), expressed overwhelming joy and confidence, describing the crowd as a clear evidence of sincerity, commitment, and readiness to reclaim purposeful leadership through unity, prayers, and strategic political engagement.

Elder Enebe placed strong emphasis on trust and political integrity, noting that his decision to work for Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro was not by coincidence but by conviction. He took the audience down memory lane, recalling that he did not support Chief Obaro during the 2003 governorship election, having then aligned with the late Senator A.T. Ahmed of blessed memory. However, political developments and the breach of an accord between Chief Obaro and Senator Ohiare compelled him to reassess his political stance.

According to him, Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro stands out among politicians as a man who honors agreements, keeps his word, and delivers on promises, even in moments when he contested elections and did not emerge victorious. He urged stakeholders to build their political structures on trust, loyalty, and collective responsibility, stressing that only such foundations can birth sustainable leadership.

At the event, members of the Obaro Elders Advisory Council and the 14 Ward Steering Committees of Ajaokuta Local Government were officially inaugurated and charged with the strategic responsibility of grassroots mobilization, wide consultations, and continuous prayers to ensure the actualization of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro’s political aspiration.

Responding to the demand raised by the overall Women Leader on the need for empowerment, Elder Enebe reaffirmed Chief Obaro’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance. He assured the women that their voices have been heard and promised that a structured women empowerment programme under the leadership of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro would commence in the shortest possible time.

The politically significant gathering was rounded off with prayers offered by Adai Cut-Across, committing the aspiration of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro and the future of Ajaokuta Local Government into God’s hands. The Ajaokuta Local Government Coordinator, Hon. Abdulsalam Hassan, delivered the closing remarks, calling on members to remain united, disciplined, and focused as the political journey continues.
